About the Founder

Work should feel better.

Thank you for visiting ErgoCotton. I'm glad you're here — because this consultancy grew from a simple belief: every person deserves to work in a space that supports their comfort, safety, and ability to do their job well, and every business, no matter its size, should have access to the expertise that makes that possible.

My path into occupational health and ergonomics wasn't a straight line. It began with a curiosity about why some workplaces run smoothly while others struggle with preventable discomfort and lost productivity. That curiosity led me to a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Health Nursing, an MSc in Health Ergonomics, and eventually to the creation of ErgoCotton.

Over time, I found myself drawn to the non‑clinical side of occupational health — the early interventions, the ergonomic adjustments, the surveillance that spots issues before they grow. That's where I believe the greatest impact happens, and it's the foundation of ErgoCotton's approach.

My professional journey

From clinics to workstations.

Before founding ErgoCotton, I worked as an Occupational Health Nurse — carrying out health assessments, delivering targeted health promotion, and conducting health surveillance for both small and large organisations, including leading manufacturing companies. Supporting such a wide range of workplaces taught me that even small adjustments can make a meaningful difference to how people feel at work.

My MSc in Health Ergonomics deepened that understanding. I learned how to assess workstations, identify risks, and design practical solutions that reduce strain and support long‑term comfort. Over the years, I've led ergonomic audits, produced clear recommendations, and worked alongside managers, HR teams, and employees to put improvements into practice in a way that feels achievable rather than overwhelming.

What I bring to your organisation

Quiet expertise, applied well.

Occupational health expertise

Pre‑employment screening, immunisations, health surveillance, and case management — aligned with HSE standards.

Ergonomic insight

A practical, grounded approach to assessing and redesigning workspaces to reduce musculoskeletal issues and support everyday comfort.

Clear, accessible communication

A focus on making health and safety understandable, so employees feel informed and supported.

Meaningful use of data

Accurate record‑keeping, trend analysis, and reporting that helps organisations make confident, informed decisions.

Why I choose to work with SMEs

Bridging a real gap.

I've always had a genuine appreciation for small and medium‑sized businesses. They care deeply about their people and often carry the same responsibilities as larger organisations — just without the luxury of an in‑house occupational health team.

ErgoCotton exists to bridge that gap. My aim is to help SMEs:

  • Meet their legal responsibilities
  • Support employee comfort and capability
  • Maintain a strong reputation
  • Adopt practical, cost‑effective OH solutions

This isn't about ticking boxes. It's about helping people feel better at work and helping businesses run more smoothly.
